Inspired by Galileo Galilei

Galileo Galilei, an Italian physicist and astronomer born in Pisa on February 15, 1564. His father, Vincenzo Galilei, was a musician. Galileo attended the University of Pisa to study medicine in 1581, where shortly discover his talent for science to become a professor of mathematics.
Galileo built a telescope from a magnifier called the spyglass. He used the telescope to look at the Moon. He discovered that the Moon had mountains like the Earth! Galileo also discovered four of the moons of Jupiter. He studied Saturn, the phases of Venus, and took sunspots on the Sun.
Galileo believed Copernicus' theory that Earth ad all our planets revolved around the Sun, contrarily to most people believing that the Earth was the center of the universe and that the Sun and planets revolved around it.

Galileo's Beliefs

Organizations disliked that Galileo published his findings telling that the Earth revolves around the Sun.
He was charged for expressing his beliefs which could cause death penalty at that time in 1616,
Galileo was forgiven from charges of heresy, but he could not publish his belief that Earth revolved around the Sun.
Galileo kept studying astronomy and strongly believed that the Earth revolved around the Sun.
In 1632, Galileo published another book stating that Copernicus’s theory was correct so the Earth revolves around the Sun.
He was sentenced to life prison in 1633. He was allowed to serve in his house because his advanced age and poor health, Galileo died on January 8, 1642.
